CPVA MEETING MINUTES

Residents Issues & Concerns

  • None

Secretary Report

  • Tasha passes out minutes, Cori motions to approve the minutes, Glen seconds the motion and all agree.

Treasurer’s Report

  • Scholarship update, Spring Fling, July 4th updates and deposit from Earth Day, Spring Fling and a transfer from savings.  One minor change Earth Day/Spring Fling will be made by Steve.

TWA Director’s Report

  • Gail reads on behalf of Ted:  TWA did not hold a meeting this month, Township meeting is Wednesday morning
  • Ted is working with Mason Pond residents on their concerns
  • Thanks residents and board members who attended Fire Station #6 and congratulate all who worked on the 4th of July float – everyone did a great job!

Village Liaison Report

  • Hurricane Preparedness, National Night Out in October this year for Texas, Programs such as “Touch a Truck” at Rob Fleming Park on 8/23, Vegetable Gardens, Concert in the Park, etc. 
  • Interfaith Backpack drive is coming up, Hometown Hero nominations are open, new transportation service between The Woodlands Lone Star College to Sam Houston (7 trips a day, $4 round trip) State University.  The Woodlands 5K is coming up sponsored by Luke’s Locker, and still looking for a Puffy the Pinecone mascot for a part time job

  • RDC needs are met

Social Issues

  • July 4th Parade Recap: Certificate, $100 prize for scholarship and very nice trophy for “Best Community Entry” for July 4th Parade

New Business

  • Present list to TWA for next year’s budget for community improvements, such as make sure reforestation at Mason Pond takes place, way finder signs for HL, directional barrier to reinforce entrance for safety as tractor trailers tear up median near CVS HL entrance (Glen demonstrates median and street layout and problem areas), improvements to HL pool, and Grogan’s Forest park bathroom.  If there are any other ideas, Gail will be sending the report in end of next week so if there is anything please email her to let her know.
  • Township Director’s Report: Tom Campbell & Claude Hunter (will be on the agenda next time)
  • Number of people came to the meeting and requested not to be held at 7:30 a.m. so this time a discussion by the board will take place to have the meeting at a different time and location to accommodate residents
  • Appointed Bob Kinear to the board for a 6 to 3 board for a majority board that has not been elected.  Stopped and closed the meeting for TWA building purchases, but will take place at the end of the meeting for this next meeting
  • Committee appointments as committees have been rearranged, elected the Fire Board (4 from Township and 3 from HOA).  4 from Township are Lloyd Matthews, Claude Hunter, Tom  Campbell, and Bruce Tough so Township majority here.  Approved $60M participation with Houston for parks and improvements for first $16M and then after that the tax will come into play (1/16th) in Township area
  • Please attend on Wednesday as Management positions report by consultant will be presented on management positions.  Discussion ensues on Township meeting
  • Lots of great things going on and services are continuing; Express shuttle coming, and will also be conducting a transportation services within The Woodlands
  • Scott inquires about Metro agreement with Brazos Transit District to extend HOV lane to 1488.  The only thing Tom has heard (outside of the board) is there may be a diamond lane.  Glen and Tasha voice concern over public transportation in The Woodlands
  • Trophy assignment – Trophy goes home with Tasha for the month

Resident Concerns

  • Dog barking late at night – is there a law to enforce and prevent this?  The existing laws are currently too hard for agencies to enforce

Ray motions to adjourn and Kevin seconds concludes the meeting at 8:35 p.m.
