CPVA MEETING MINUTES
MINUTES APPROVED
- Attendance: Willie Johnson, Holly Steinke - WCSC, Dawn Naquin, Ron & Ann Schultz, Allyson Pardee, Ronnie Rodes, Ray Penton, Kay McIver, James Simmons, Phil Hoffman, Nicole Brotherton, Enrique Castillo, Ross Brigger, Ronnie Rodes
- Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Willie Johnson
- A Motion to approve Minutes from August 12, 2002 meeting was made, seconded and voted unanimously.
- Village Liasion's Report given by Holly Steinke (see attached agenda dated 9/9/02). Holly reminded residents that there is a Game Day For Seniors on the 2nd Friday each month from 11 am - 1 pm. We are continuing to add new Neighborhood Watch Coordinators in College Park. Let Holly know if you are interested in starting a Woodlands Watch Program on your street. The Woodlands Association Damage Report for August shows an estimated total of $575.00 in estimated repair costs. Of that total, there was $0.00 in College Park. "A Walk In The Woods" lecture series begins September 19th.
- At a meeting of the CPVA Board on Augst 28th, a decision was made to change the monthly meeting date from the second Monday to the third Monday of each month. This will allow the officers to attend the Quarterly meetings for the various Villages.
- After some discussion, a vote was called and a unanimous decision to hold a December meeting. It will be informal with refreshments and a time to review residents concerns. The date of the meeting is: December 16th.
- A "College Park Village Day" will be held at the College Park Village Center. Several volunteers will sell our T-Shirts in front of the Wal - Mart Supercenter on Saturday October 5th, pass out some freebies and distribute flyers containing information about out village. The time will be 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- Allyson Pardee gave a "Fall Spooktacular" update. She still needs volunteers and is planning a fun time for all.
- Willie encouraged people to participate in Early Voting to avoid the crowds. A list of Polling Places and times will be posted on the website: villageofcollegepark.com
- The Fall Flea Market will be October 19th at the Tinseltown Parking Garage. Volunteers need to sign up tonight on the sheets provided. Willie encouraged people to participate and/or attend this great re-cycling effort.
