CPVA MEETING MINUTES
MINUTES APPROVED
- Attendance: Holly Steinke - WCSC, Allyson Pardee, Kay McIver, James Simmons, Ray Penton, Ann Schultz, Ron Schultz, Willie Johnson, Dawn Naquin
- Meeting called to order at 7:40 p.m. by Willie Johnson
- A Motion to approve Minutes from November 18, 2002 meeting was made, seconded and voted unanimously.
- Village Liasion's Report given by Holly Steinke (see attached agenda dated 12/16/02). Holiday Lighting Award Presentations will be held this week.
- Prizes will be awarded to the Best Home and Best Neighborhood Wednesday night 12/18/02 between 6:00 & 8:00 p.m. Judges who wish participate in the presentations should be at the Community Associations Building by 5:30 p.m.
- A check in the amount of $1063.00 was deposited on December 11th. The check is for our share of the October Flea Market proceeds. A letter from Karen Booren of Panther Creek indicated some changes will probably be taking place. The next Flea Market is scheduled for April 12th, 2003.
- TWOC will hold a public Open House for The Woodlands Waterway from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. on New Year's Eve.

Willie has Filing packets for those wanting to run for a position in the 2003 elections. College Park has the following positions available: (1) Class A Director, President, Secretary, (5) Area Representatives, and (5) Members for the RDRC. The Key Dates of the Election are as follows:
12/27/02 Filing Begins
01/17/03 Filing Ends
01/21/03 Meeting for Ballot Placement - Orientation
02/03/03 Convenience/Absentee Voting Begins
02/15/03 Election Day -
Willie discussed the need for an Orientation Session prior to the General Election. After some discussion a motion was made and seconded to hold an Orientation Session on January 21, 2003 the same day as the Ballot Placement meeting. A unanimous vote carried and the session is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Willie reported that a Joint Governance Process Committee (from both TWA and WCA) have had their first meeting. Their work on this committee will lead to continued knowledge and a community consensus regarding local governance for The Woodlands. They will not set policies or make recommendations but will establish a process that will do this.
