Larger fires and structural fires get The Woodlands and Conroe fire departments as back up. Needham Road Fire Department has gone down from a 6 to a 4 on ISO ratings. Plans to hopefully get down to a 3 or a 2. Q;> What does that mean? A;> That you could be paying less on your insurance. Q:> What is the scale......what does being rated a 4 mean? A:>The scale goes from 1-10, 10 being the worst. 7:54: graphs are handed out showing the distribution of communities by Public Protection Classification, also a list of 42 communities in this country that are rated a class 1. This is a goal of the Needham Road Fire Department. 7:56: John Mullen of The Woodlands Fire Department speaks more on the 1-10 scale and how a 4 rating is something to be proud of. Also says ISO rates the water systems. Speaks more on response to calls and that The Woodlands will respond to 100% of medical calls, large fires, etc. The Woodlands Fire Department has 23 firefighters on duty at all times. The department had 4000 calls last year, 20 of which were in Harper's Landing. 8:03: M. Gosselin from the Conroe Fire department speaks briefly on the department, that they have 78 career firefighters, and that 22 are on duty at all times. When called to a fire they will always send the closest engines. Q:> Which department will cover the neughborhood of Windsor Lakes? John Mullen answers:> Conroe will be its first responders. Q:> Is anyone looking at putting a fire station at the north end of 242? John Mullen answers:> It's still being looked at, as 242 becomes more developed, there may be a plan. Suggestions were made that he advise his neighbors to contact the Sheriff's department next time they hear it. Q:> My house backs a greenbelt that is unkempt , who do I contact to clean it up. A> Fill out a blue card and submit it to the village liaison at the end of the meeting. Resident concern:> questioned pool fees in addition to assessment fees. Board response:> The pool fees go toward the maintenance and upkeep of the pool, it would not be fair to charge residents that do not use the pool for the upkeep of it. Also, pool passes can be used at any of the park pools in The Woodlands 8:39: Reminder that we are a silver sponsor in the South County Fourth of July.
- 8:41: meeting adjourned.
